Get Funny! app for iPhone and iPad

People say that Avanti’s funny greeting card characters practically leap off the page, so we created an Augmented Reality app that does just that! Avanti’s GetFunny! app allows users to interact with some of the most popular characters that appear on Avanti greeting cards sold in over 20,000 retail locations worldwide.

By focusing the device camera on the card, the app causes the photographic image to peel away from the card surface and stand upright. It brings the character to life with animation and sound, adding the greeting from inside the card to complete the experience.

The fun really starts when people interact with the characters. The app includes a camera button to take photos of their friends getting funny with the Avanti card. Imagine getting a Birthday card from a friend and then bringing the character to life and posting that photo on your friend’s Facebook page. Or even posting your GetFunny! photo on a friend’s timeline for their Birthday as a preview to the actual card in the mail. GetFunny! adds another level of entertainment to the greeting card experience, and it’s free!

GetFunny! is available for all iOS devices. It will debut on select cards and 6 large floor graphics at the National Stationery Show, held May 18 – 21, 2014 at the Javits Center in New York.
